Help, Off the cigarettes since feb 21st. Cant stop eating, doing it cold turkey. Feel like given up?

Answer:
hang on for just one more day,...see what a difference it will make,...
just run out and do something for someone else, when the cravings come on.
start chewing gum that works best and suck on candies alot that will also help
Get some bubble gum like Hubba Bubba;the thicker the gum the better. That is what I did over 10 years ago.
smoke pot!
NONONONO don't give up ! Great job you are doing ! keep going ! Walk outside do some exercises ! Eat healthy food ! I quit cold turkey to 13 years ago and that was the best thing i ever did !
So hang in there!
Try the nicotine patches.
Don't give up. It get's easier!
Try eating sunflower seeds. It keeps your mouth and hands busy. Drink a lot of water too- it'll curve your appetite!
Hi there, I did the same thing when I quit smoking a few years ago. Try the Committ Lozenges to help with cravings and get sugar free hard candies and gum. I really liked the Jolly Rancher Cinnamin candies. They helped me quite a bit. Oh, and try eating sunflower seeds (the ones still in the shell), it helps keep your hands occupied. Just think, you really are over the roughest time. Once you quit for about a month, the cravings get less and less and less, until you rarely ever think about it. Take good care and I wish you the best of luck. Hang in there :-) !
Drink a lot of water. It will help fill you up and flush your system of the toxins. Don't give up if you have been a week already! Another week and you'll feel even better. Try exercising when you feel like you need a smoke or food. Go somewhere where you can't smoke such as the shower, around kids etc.
Exercise !!!! If you exercise, it will keep your mind focused and your body will burn some of the cravings. You will also usually drink a lot because of thirst. Drinking water quenches thirst but also supresses appetite. Also chew on some sugarless gum when you have a little craving, just pop a chewing gum and focus on work, homework, exercize. Make it your routine and way of life, just like when you made smoking a habit.
Stick with it, your appetite will fade. I haven't smoked in three years, it's sooooo worth it.
OK, you have made it this far....do NOT give up! If you have to eat to quit, then eat! but really you should just chew gum instead. What you are going through will go away...probably in another week or so. any weight you gain which wont be much will go away once you calm down on the eating. also if you are going to be eating all that food make it something healthy.
Chew gum.
Chew on a toothpick or straw.
Put a rubberband around your wrist and snap it every time you go to eat something when it is not meal time.
If you can, when you feel like eating but are not hungry, do some exercise. (releases endorphins, should reduce the craving)
I had tried everything from the the patch to hypnosis but nothing worked until I tried CHANTIX which is available by prescription only. It is great-very few cravings. However, I too am eating like a horse. I usually pop a sugarless lifesaver candy but that doesn't always work so I am eating a lot of low carb ice cream! I guess I'd rather quit smoking now and worry about the weight later. Best of luck to you---
Congratulations on being a non-smoker.
Have you thought about trying something like the nicotine patch or gum? Would help. Meanwhile, since it's only been about a week, be kind to yourself-- your cravings and eating will balance out soon.
